Nothing says L.A. style more than the dynamic designing duo of Gela Nash-Taylor and Pamela Skaist-Levy. As the creative forces behind the blockbuster brand Juicy Couture, the partners and best friends invented what became the uniform for West Coasters in 2001, the velour tracksuit.
Today, they are flirting with a more city-dwelling, downtown feel with their new line, Bird, out this August. "It’s streetwear; it’s what we do best. But this is just for a different, sophisticated girl – a bit more chic, a bit more urban,” Nash-Taylor explains. "This is casual luxury with an edge.” Edge with a distinct playfulness that has come to be synonymous with the label and that shows up in Bird’s set of sleek separates, like deconstructed denim, ombre cardigans with skinny scarves, and sexy cutout frocks. Inspired in part by a vintage find from London’s Portobello Road, the line will be sold at Bergdorf Goodman and at select Juicy Couture stores...
