Water Cooler Talk | Fashion Legacies & Racing Letdowns

This week the word on the street is equally as fabulous as the word on the track.

Chanel’s The Little Black Jacket Exhibition – I was able to sneak out of work early and head down to SoHo. What I found most impressive was the amount of photographs they had in the collection—actors, celebrities, musicians—covered the walls of the beautifully curated exhibit. So many people participated. All the staff was very courteous and offered free posters of three different portraits: Vanessa Paradis, Elle Fanning and Sarah Jessica Parker. I snagged a Vanessa Paradis and Elle Fanning. The staff even rolled them up and put them in a Chanel poster sleeve for me. Chic and helpful!

144th Belmont Stakes – I braved the depravity of Penn Station this past Saturday for the chance to watch I’ll Have Another take a shot at the Triple Crown. Unfortunately, we got the news that he was out of contention just as the doors to the Belmont-bound LIRR train shut. We were trapped with thousands of other seersucker and straw hat clad race-goers. Not all was lost however, as we got a chance to break out the bright colors and espadrilles. The day turned out sunny and beautiful, and a fabulous time was had by all. Giddy up!
