Find out what’s making Santa Monica the new nightlife destination.


With new venues like The Bungalow, Misfit Bar and The Charleston in town, Santa Monica seems to have a hold over Hollywood as LA’s new nightlife center. We recently sat down with Adam Koral of h.wood group, who opened this and many of LA’s other hottest clubs: Las Palmas and its famed street-facing taco stand, H.Wood and the Tea Room, The Beverly and most recently, Bootsy Bellows. Koral confirmed what we love about this new scene, with some added inside scoop.

The location: “Between our memberships at The Beach ClubBrentwood Country Club, and just growing up in LA, we had so many friends over on the Westside that it seemed perfect. We had a craving for something fresh that catered to locals and made them feel at home. Plus, it’s pretty hard to find a craft cocktail mixology bar much closer to the beach than this!”

The crowd: “It’s consistently a solid mix of locals from the Santa Monica Canyon, Palisades, Malibu and Venice. We have a lot of friends that live in WeHo/BH/Hollywood, so they come out a good amount to support us too. People come for the amazing cocktails and to dance to local DJs, and friends come because they know the atmosphere, service, and overall experience will be what they expect from us.”

The atmosphere: “I don’t think in all my years of going out in LA, or any other city for that matter, have I seen a place as diverse as SHOREbar. On the weekdays, its a high end mixology lounge that is perfect for small groups and dates, or a pre/post dinner cocktail. Thursday-Saturday you’ll find people sitting on top of the booths and even dancing on the tables! It’s really unlike anything I’ve ever seen and imagined when we built the place, but its hard to argue when I look around and see everybody having such a good time, singing and dancing along to songs that range from Disco to Jay Z to Calvin Harris to Call Me Maybe….”

  • 2 oz Akvinta Vodka
  • 3/4 oz St. Germain
  • 3/4 oz fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 strawberries, muddled
  • Topped w/ 1.5 oz of prosecco


  1. Muddle lemon, strawberries, and St germain
  2. Throw ice on it an add vodka an shake
  3. Strain into glass
  4. Top w/ prosecco
  5. Enjoy!
