Watercooler Talk | A Trip Uptown & A Trip Up North

This past weekend was full of beautiful imagery for our Juicy friends.

Regarding Andy Warhol exhibit — On Saturday I went to the Met to see the “Regarding Andy Warhol – 50 Years” exhibit. The show examines the impact of Warhol’s work on artists from the past 50 years up to today. The exhibit is curated to juxtapose Warhol’s work with other artists’ by topic and aesthetic. Some highlights we’re the celebrity pieces including Karen Kilimnik’s ‘Marie Antoinette out for a Walk at her Petite Hermitage’ and Vik Muniz’s ‘Pollock,’ a collection of flower-inspired pieces by Warhol, Jeff Koons, Murakami, and Polly Apfelbaum, and of course a recreation of the infamous ‘Silver Clouds.’

Toronto — Toronto is only an hour flight away and cottage country is a great get-away when coming from NYC. The water-access only cottage where I stayed is right next to a provincial park on its private little island on Lovesick Lake. The main cabin is over 100 years old, complete with boathouse, docks, fire-wood shack, and a 5 mile walk around the island. Though there wasn’t much wind and the fall weather is definitely brisk, we went sailing, canoeing, spent quite some time by the fireplace… and I even took a polar bear dip in the lake!
