Focus On | The Broot Hair Treatment Bar
We’ve all heard of homemade hair masks made with ingredients you find in the fridge, but who’s actually tried one? The Broot Hair Treatment Bar on Montana Ave in Santa Monica offers simple, raw, organic hair treatments in a fab new salon.
The concept: get your hair back to its root, which is much needed after the amount of drying, straightening, curling, coloring, etc that we are all accustomed to.
Our experience: We created a treatment from the listed ingredients and watched a hairdresser blend the mask before our very eyes. No chemicals here, nothing from concentrate — clients can be sure they’re getting 100% real ingredients with a leftover eggshell and banana peel to prove it. Next, we relaxed in the salon chair while the mask was applied, then sat under a heater while it soaked in. After each treatment, clients can choose to blow dry themselves or have a professional blow out (for an extra charge.) One of the coolest things is how every client has the option of leaving with a braid. Say you don’t have time to blow dry (or you just prefer the look of naturally dried hair), you can receive a basic wet braid from your hairdresser at no extra charge. If you want to get fancy, a more detailed custom braid can be done for $25.
The result: you’ll leave The Broot with healthy, bouncy, nourished hair — and perhaps a French braid, like we did!
Couturists can get 20% by booking an appointment online: just use the code JUICY20 at checkout. This offer is especially for Couturists and good until 12/31/12 Enjoy! Xx
