Watercooler Talk | Kubrick at LACMA
A recent trip to LACMA had us absolutely enchanted by the beautifully chilling installations from the work of legendary film maker, Stanley Kubrick.
2012: A Kubrick Odyssey — We headed to LACMA on Saturday in hopes of relishing in the breadth of Stanley Kubrick’s work, ranging from his early photographs for Look magazine to his groundbreaking achievements of the 1950s through the 1990s. We traveled through time, interpreting film representions through a selection of scripts, production photography, cameras, set models, costumes, and props. We were educated on two projects that Kubrick never even completed, as well as the technological advances developed and utilized by he and his team. Overall, a complex and incredibly fulfilling experience, our favorite pieces from the retrospective were those pulled from the set of Lolita and The Shining.
